Having had a mixed experience at Udaipur, our aim for the day was to reach Bhuj. when I set Bhuj as our destination on google maps it said 9 hrs. Which was way beyond our limit of driving for one day, so we decided to halt at Ahmedabad. Due to this sudden change in plan, I again had to start off as a navigator for Ritesh and plan our stay, and search for attractions nearby. Due to a horrible experience at Maderi Haveli, this time I wanted to be double sure, thus booked a room at Courtyard Ahmedabad by Marriot.
Courtyard Ahmedabad: Marriot
There is only one road from start to end that you have to take to reach Ahmedabad and i.e NH48. It is a treat for travelers, be it in terms of the condition of the road or roadside view, provided you travel at the right time of the year. The drive from Udaipur to Ahmedabad is almost 5 hr. We reached Ahmedabad around 1630hr. We checked in and dropped our luggage and thereafter moved to the Sabarmati riverfront.
As Ahmedabad was an unplanned halt we didn’t have any plans to visit any of the tourist attractions so we decided to meet our friends here. We reached back to the hotel around 2100hr. Having the amazing buffet we decided to hit the bed, but I was the only one planning to sleep. Because Ritesh had found his first wife in the hotel. Do you wanna know who it was? It was none other than the WIFI (FACEPALM), with good internet speed. Why am calling the internet his first wife because over everything else he always chooses the internet?
Shopping
Our next morning started with having a delicious breakfast and shopping for him. YES!! tables do turn, and this time it turned in the most unexpected time and place. I have packed his stuff as per prevailing winters in the northern part of the country but here we are welcomed by bright, sunny, and warm weather. So he did not have proper clothing to go ahead with our tour without buying a few more clothes, after all, it was my mistake that I did not pack the correct pair of clothes for him. Therefore we decided to first shop for a few things for him before proceeding to Bhuj.
Bhuj
We moved towards Bhuj around 1100hr. On the way, we took a halt at a small city known as Dhrangadhra to meet one of my seniors over lunch. Ritesh fell flat for the delicious cake baked by ma’am for us. We left from Dhrangadhra around 1600hr and reached Bhuj at 1930hr. On the way, we saw huge piles of sea salt among them the sunset looked more beautiful than I ever saw before. After reaching our guestroom, we decided to visit the mess for the first time since we started our trip, it was a back to routine type feeling. We came back to our room at 2300hr, the hot and sweaty day has become chilly cold by now. We prepared our bed and decided to call it a day.
